Ashen Treasure Chests are molten versions of regular Treasure Chests.Coral Treasure Chests are coral-encrusted versions of the Regular Chests that are found only in Siren Shrines And Siren Treasuries.These sell for the same amount as their regular counterparts. Barnacled or Shipwrecked Treasure Chests are damaged versions of regular Treasure Chests that can be usually found underwater or on the seas.Regular Treasure Chests have no distinct qualities to them.There are six types of Treasure Chests: Regular, Barnacled, Coral, Ashen, Valuable and Cursed Treasure Chests: Treasure Chests emit a White Glint from a distance. The following are the Treasure Items that can be sold to the Gold Hoarders Trading Company Hoarders on any Outpost for Gold and Reputation. Within the three main companies: Gold Hoarders, Order of Souls and Merchant Alliance, Treasure Items are also categorised into Regular, Devil's Roar or Ashen, Stronghold or Skeletal and Ghostly variants depending on the main source of the Treasure Items. Treasure items are categorised by the Trading Company that wishes to purchase them for Currencies and Reputation (and Emissary Value if sailing as Trading Company Emissaries). These reputation increases are given only when the Crew claims a Treasure item for the first time. The Crew will get additional Reputation if they put these items on their Ship. While sailing as Trading Company Emissaries, picking up a Treasure item that is relevant to the Company will give Crews Emissary Grade Reputation. Container Chests can carry up to 3 Small Treasure Items, making transportation and delivery of these items a fair bit easier.Īny Treasure that has been picked up and left on land will stay there for as long as possible, however any Treasure item dropped in water will sink after about 5 minutes of floating. Most every smaller Treasure Item can be placed inside Container Chests to hide any emitted Glow, Glint or Sound. Every Treasure Item can be retrieved from afar with a Harpoon. The Treasure has to be dropped to regain full control of the Pirate. A single Pirate can hold one Treasure Item at one time (even if the item fits into one hand) and cannot fight or use any Equipment or Resource Items meanwhile. Every Treasure Item has a colored glint or glow surrounding it so that Players can spot them and their type from afar.Įvery Treasure item has to be carried by hand to the respective Company Representatives to receive a payout for them. Outpost Representatives also offer Voyages, which take Crews on Quests that lead them to these Treasure items.Īside from focused Voyages, random Treasure can be found all over The Sea of Thieves, whether hidden or beached on Islands, floating amongst Barrels of Plenty or Shipwrecks in the Seas, locked behind Vaults in Forts or taken/eaten by various menacing foes such as Skeleton Ships, Megalodons or the Kraken. These Representatives accept all Treasure related to their Company for Gold, Reputation and Emissary Value. Each Trading Company values certain types of Treasure Items and mostly have Representatives at every Outpost. Treasure is the main source of Gold, Reputation and Emissary Value in Sea of Thieves.
